To provide every learner of a second language with further opportunities for extending their knowledge and experience of the cultures of other people as well as opportunities for personal and intellectual development, further studies, pleasure and work in the English medium; and
To enable every learner to prepare for the changing socio-economic demands resulting from advances in information technology; these demands include the interpretation, use and production of materials for pleasure, study and work in the English medium.
Phonics Programme is integrated in the English Curriculum for P.1 to P.2 to get students familiar with the speech sounds, skills of blending and so to enhance their ability in pronunciation and spelling.
School-based Literacy Programme (LP) is provided for P.1 to P.3 students to learn English from reading to writing. Incorporated with the elements of positive education and STEM, students are able to extend their learning experience across curriculum in the medium of English.
Integrated Programme (IP) is designed for P.4 to P.6 students to increase their confidence in the language through enhancing their oral skills and writing ability in various learning activities.
Home Reading Programme is implemented in all P. 1 to P.6 levels to foster student’s independence and motivation to learn from reading.
